So here's my first attempt at playing around with Photoshop. I know, I know - it all looks like some sort of cheesy 80s poster, but hey, I tried. The Photoshopping will improve, I'll make sure of it! Anyway, I'm loving pink at the moment. I want to wear neon pink lipstick for this summer, lots of pale pink chiffon dresses and maybe even some rose-tinted glasses.... I'll just make sure I don't look too girly by teaming it with some oversized blazers and grungy boots.

Knit me some nice things please Granny.

My granny is the most incredible knitter... almost every bit of knitwear I own has been knitted by her skilled self. I'm completely OBSESSED with this beige Dries Van Noten jumper, and Rodarte cobweb style knits are too beautiful for words... I wonder if granny wouldn't mind giving some of this adventurous knitting a shot for my birthday? Oh and for christmas, I'm asking her to knit this:

Trini I heart your clothes

Before I even knew what fashion blogs were, I used to stalk this girl on myspace. Her name's Trini , she's from Madrid and I absolutely adore her style. She inspired me to wear socks with everything, bowler hats, ripped tights, turbans... you name it! Also she was the first girl I EVER saw who donned the re-growth. Spanish girls ROCK.

This dress is my little saviour.
When I first discovered this dress in a second hand shop, I practically fainted I was so in love. I didn't care that it was covered in stains and the odd cigarette burn, in fact that made me love it more. At the time I remember that I had no money on me, so I ran home to get some cash (in the pouring rain), ran back to the shop, and eventually the dress was mine. I now live in it every summer without fail.

Leighanne Jones, fitty extraordinaire

My friend Leighanne has always been a bit of an inspiration for me. She's a buyer for the dresses at Topshop (I aint surprised the dresses are so good there), has one of the most immense wardrobes and has just appeared in Vogue (WTF!). She also happens to be one of the sweetest people I know. Big love to Leighanne Jones.

Spectacular hair
I always go on about how desperate I am to change the style of my hair, but somehow I never get round to doing anything about it. I considered dying it brown, or cutting it, but why on EARTH would I do that when I could either have A. pink hair or B. a huge side plait? I've donned the side plait a few times (with the help of some hair extensions... eek, I know, I never normally touch extensions but for the plait I'll allow them)... but pink hair is something I thought I'd since forgotten since my "rebellious" years. But ever since I saw this photo of Dree Hemingway, I've been obsessed!Tuesday, 19 January 2010
Dirk Larsen... painter, performance artist and embarassing dad

I was aimlessly looking through my dad's Facebook profile the other day, and found these tagged photos of him. All I know is that he used to be a performance artist back in the 70s, and apparently this included 'pretending to be a drunken fly' infront of an audience. Not so sure what he's doing in the above pictures, but I wish I'd seen it first hand ("Dad.... you're so embarassing!!!" springs to mind). Something makes me think that's where I got my eccentric side from though.... Below is one of his paintings, I suggest you visit his myspace to see more of his art. Not only will it amuse you, but I can guarantee you'll take another look at your life and think "GOD... I'm so NORMAL!".

Free People your shoes are FIT !
As my friend Jemma has just started her new job at Free People/Urban Outfitters HQ, I thought I would have a little stalk of the Free People website and O.M.G.... the shoes are INSANE! It really is shoe heaven. Unfortunately, I am ridiculously poor at the moment, so couldn't afford any of the above. While still inspired by all the Free People-esque booties - I decided to have a scout around some of the Brighton vintage shops for shoes... and I found these for £30! I'm a very happy bunny now, I think these lovelies will be my new Spring/Summer staple...

I want to be a hippy and I want to have fun.

I am developing a rather out-of-control obsession with Spring. I long for the days when the flowers start peaking through, and I can start dressing like a fairy again. I came across these photos that I took of my beautiful friend, Rosa, in May last year... and it got me all excited about Spring times!

I salute you, perfect outfit
I don't know what it is about this outfit, but to me it is perfect. Slightly loose leather trousers - tick. beautiful vintage waistcoat - tick. oversized hippy bag - tick. and to top it all off I love how Daria's just wearing a normal pair of black flip flops - it just shows that she hasn't even tried.

Niels Larsen's proverbs

My danish grandad was a crazy eccentric, he even made a little book including some of the proverbs he'd invented. They are truly bizarre, but if you think about each one, very true! One of my favourites has to be "handles always get in the way"....well, they do!
